New York In The '90s, Drunkenly

Probably my favorite of all the pieces I’ve written about booze. Originally written/published around 2012 in Bar Magazine, which back then was an iPad-only subscription-based affair, meaning very few people actually saw it (though the graphics were amazing). I rescued it, revised it a little, and put it up on Medium a couple of years ago, and that’s where you can find it now. Alas, Panchito’s, my early ‘90s bar of choice, which I mention in the piece as still going strong, has closed. A tragedy for NYU students and fans of Alabama Slammers everywhere.
