There are certain things that, were I given the opportunity to write about them editorially, I would say, in my best New Yorker parlance, “Getdafuggouttahere!” Such an endeavor is Les Remarquables de Martell, a new, ongoing project from the venerable cognac maison that will be limited to one bottle a year, sort of, and will cost a cool million Euros. Not a million dollars, a million Euros. Which is, last I checked, even more than a million dollars. To be fair, it’s a demijohn of cognac, which is actually several bottles’ worth. But still. A million Euros?!

But when you write sponsored content, as I did in this case, cynicism gets put to the side and you’re writing about it from the brand’s point of view. And I give them full credit. Martell realized that to warrant the price tag, they really had to pull out all the stops. And believe me, there are no stops left unpulled with this extravaganza.
