Happy Patriots Day! Let's Drink Some New England Spirits!

Apart from being the day on which the Boston Marathon is run, Patriots Day just isn’t very well known, especially considering it has nothing to do with Tom Brady. It commemorates the anniversary of the Shot Heard ‘Round The World — not Bobby Thomson’s pennant-winning home run for the Giants in 1951, but the real thing, the first battles of the American Revolution. And my goodness, that’s kind of a big deal.

I’ve got a thing for New England in general (though I’ll remain a Yankees fan to my dying day… wow, can you tell I’m missing sports a lot?), and New England spirits in particular. They don’t all embrace one particular style or ethos, but I suppose I get a little of the esprit of the region — its history, its culture, its beauty — in each one I try.

Check out my article on some of my favorite New England booze at Robb Report, and then do yourself a favor and support the distilleries if you can.
