If I Had One Whiskey To Take With Me To The Underworld....

I’ve seen studio apartments smaller than this bottle’s packaging. (Photo courtesy of Michter’s)

Michter’s Celebration was a bold bet — some might call it a risky gamble — when it was first released in 2013. The $4,000 price was unheard of for an American whiskey. And Michter’s, while well regarded in the whiskey community, wasn’t exactly a household name outside of it. Well, the gamble paid off, and here we are with the fourth (and to my taste buds, the best) edition of Celebration. The price has gone up, to $6,000, but that doesn’t mean you’ll see bottles gathering dust on any liquor store shelves, no matter how high end. Times have changed, and now, thanks in part to the barrier-busting Celebration, American whiskey is as collectible, and as pricey, as it’s ever been.

So how does Celebration, um, taste? I’m guessing you won’t get the answer from a lot of people who fork out the cash for a bottle. This is an investment as much as a bottle of booze. Hell, it’s almost a family heirloom. Were I a pharaoh, I’d definitely have a bottle of this stuff tucked away in my pyramid for a trip to the underworld. But I got to taste it, and that’s why you need to read my Whisk(e)y Of The Week article over at Forbes! Link is right -> HERE <-.
