It Only Took 183 Years, But Glen Grant's New 21 Year Old Whisky Is Here

The very bottle of Glen Grant 21 Year Old I tasted. It was very good. (Photo by me)

There are a lot of top-notch Scotch whiskies out there — the number far exceeds the bandwidth of my liver. And as a result, there’s a whole bunch of great drams that I forget about for years at a time until I’m compelled for one reason or another to try them again… at which point I think, why do I not drink this all the time? And often as not, I forget about them again until the process repeats itself months or years later.

The Glen Grant is one of those whiskies. I won’t soon forget the 70 year old bottling released by indie bottlers Gordon & MacPhail a few years ago, but I had no recollection of what their 12 year old expression tasted like. And it took a sit-down with the Glen Grant’s master distiller Dennis Malcolm to get me to refresh my memory, but good Lord, it’s delicious — lively and fruity and just a joy to quaff. And their new 21-year-old expression is pretty nifty as well. Why did the Glen Grant, which was established in 1840, wait until now to release a 21 YO? Find out in my writeup over at Forbes, why don’t you! Link is -> HERE <-.
