If you say something that’s ridiculously cheap is worth the money, is that damning with faint praise? Is saying that a $10 whisky will give you $10 worth of enjoyment, um, praising with faint damns? I still haven’t figured it out. But I’m glad that I was called on by Liquor.com to figure out whether a $10 whisky that tastes like, oh, maybe an $11 whisky is a good thing or a bad thing. I guess it’s a matter of perspective — if you can’t afford any better, than Black Velvet Canadian Whisky is a godsend just for being good enough. If you’ve got $20 to spare? Well, maybe not so much.

Either way, I never need to try Black Velvet Canadian Whisky ever again. But doing so once certainly didn’t traumatize me in any way. Read all about it, as well as my tasting notes, interesting trivia and more, over at Liquor dot com!
