Threefer Tuesday: New "What's Tony Drinking?" & "Whisk(e)y Of The Week" PLUS A Rare Podcast Appearance

The great Salvatore Calabrese, the also-great Elayne Duff, and yours truly, both awed and humbled. (And that’s Federico Pavan in the background.)

It’s rare that I have two articles published in two publications on the same day. Prolific, I ain’t. But occasionally the stars align, and yesterday saw the latest installment of What’s Tony Drinking? go live, courtesy of the fine humans at Alcohol Professor, as well as my latest Whisk(e)y Of The Week writeup over at Forbes. In WTD, you’ll read all about my drinking with international cocktail legend Salvatore Calabrese; getting a ride home from school (with my daughter, natch) in an Aston Martin courtesy of Bowmore Whisky; and oh-so much more. My WOTW covers something I rarely consider newsworthy — the fifth whisky in an ongoing series. I’m sure you had to stifle a yawn just reading that. But when that whisky is also the first Scotch single malt ever finished in awamori casks, well, that’s pretty cool. And what’s awamori, you might ask? Read the article! (Scroll down for links.)

And while I’m at it…. Not too long ago I sat down with drinking buddy/enabler/genever legend Philip Duff for a booze-soaked episode of his podcast, The Philip Duff Show. More than three hours later, we emerged slightly bleary of eye but in surprisingly good shape considering how much we imbibed. Philip, bless his soul, put the whole damn thing on the air unedited. Hanging out and drinking with the two of us for three hours is tough enough for most mere mortals, but to merely listen to us drinking must be some form of punishment in certain countries, no? But since this is my second time on the ‘cast, it must mean that enough people listened to the first one to warrant an encore. Listen to as much or as little as your heart desires!
