“Sachs.”
“That’s my name, pal, don’t wear it out.”
”Got a job for ya. Oysters. Rye whiskey. Jefferson’s.”
”Is that crazy Trey Zoeller aging rye at sea now too?”
”That’s the word on the street.”
”Hell, it’s about time. He’s been aging bourbon on boats for what, ten years now?”
”Look, I’d love to chat with you all day, but time is money and frankly, you’re not worth a whole lot of either. So you writing this thing or what?”
”Get me a bottle and some bivalves and I’ll see what I can do.”
”We’ll get you the bottle. Oysters, you’re on your own. Head over to the docks with a glove and a knife when the tide goes out. Good luck, kid.”

That is not at all how this piece came into being, but it’s kind of fun imagining my editor at Alcohol Professor, Amy Sherman — one of the nicest human beings on the planet — talking to me like that. Anyway, have a look, and then try out the rye-and-oysters thing for yourself. You’ll be glad you did. Oh, almost forgot the link! It’s right… -> HERE <-.
