I Drank Pizza Hut's Wine. It’s Not What You’d Expect.
I don’t normally write about wine. But for Pizza Hut, and their Pizza Hut Pizza Wine, I will make an exception. And while I’m usually a cocktail/spirits guy even when drinking on my own time, I was delighted to partake of this highly sought-after vino, not least because it gave me an excuse to eat Pizza Hut for the first time in decades. Sure, I live in NYC, the pizza capital of the world — or at least North America, Italy deserving its proper respect and all. But that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the occasional meal at a national chain restaurant. When I was growing up in the Big Apple, you see, McDonald’s had only recently breached the city limits, and places like Red Lobster and Applebee’s were only rumors, seen on TV commercials and road trips but never in the Big Apple. So Pizza Hut, to me, still has that whiff of the exotic.
Anyway, I had the wine. It comes from Kansas. It’s made from tomatoes. It was really weird. And if you want to know more than that, you’ll have to read my review in Alcohol Professor, not least because it sold out either the day of release or the day after, so you won’t be able to taste it for yourself. I guess the question is, would you want to? Find out! The link is -> HERE <-.
