My Favorite Thanksgiving Cocktail, And How To Make It

I made an apple brandy Old Fashioned just so I could take this photo. And then I drank it, of course. Don’t want to let a good cocktail go to waste. (Photo by me)

I am so not a seasonal cocktail kind of guy. Part of it is because of the deluge of emails we booze scribes get from well-meaning publicists in advance of every holiday, no matter how insignificant. “Essential Cocktails For Arbor Day!” “Remember Our Departed Heroes With This Veterans’ Day Cocktail.” And so on. I’d tell you what these cocktails are like, but I delete the emails before reading them.

That said, every rule has its exception. There’s one cocktail that makes me happy year-round, but I especially look forward to drinking it when it’s sweater weather, and even more so on Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday (I enjoy gluttony, what can I say). I wrote it up for Forbes, and if you’re looking for something quick and easy to whip up for your fellow turkey-noshers (or just you, that’s cool too), I don’t think you can do much better.
