Professor Sachs Talks Angel’s Envy & Ardbeg
Once again, it’s been damn near a month since I updated this here site. It’s that time of year when publicists and booze brands try to kill all us writers by pouring endless amounts of booze and unhealthy food down our throats and make sure that, if we survive, we’ll be bloated and bleary-eyed at all times. So I must confess, napping often seems more appealing than updating you on what I’ve been writing when I haven’t been attending another event or tasting or dinner or… you get the point. (Please note that I haven’t mentioned the all-encompassing depression following the presidential election that made doing much of anything a real struggle for me and many of my cohorts, not to mention just about everyone here in NYC. Oh wait, I guess I just noted it. Duly noted.)
But I HAVE found time to write, thank goodness. And I’m happy to report that I’m once again a writer in good standing for the fine humans at Alcohol Professor. I was never on their s*** list, nor they on mine, but I was busy writing for other publications and they were busy doing their thing and it was a case of mutual benign neglect for a while. Anyway, I’m back and happy to be back. And here, as proof of my back-ness, are links to two recent things I’ve had published there. First up is another exciting installment of my Pour Tony column, in which I travel to Kentucky to check out an oddball Angel’s Envy bourbon that turns out to be freakin’ delicious — alas, it’s only available at the distillery, but hey, Louisville is lovely this time of year. Then it’s a review of two recent bottlings from that most prolific of Islay single malts, Ardbeg. I feel like hardly a month goes by without something new and delicious from those cats. But these two are especially interesting because… well, you’ll just have to read and find out.
Links! I got ‘em! Click -> HERE <- for Pour Tony and -> HERE <- for Ardbeg x 2! And I swear I’ll post another update in less than a month!
