Put Down That Necktie! Check Out These Whiskies For Father's Day Instead

I didn’t sit down to write either of the articles whose links you’ll find, well, somewhere in the next couple of paragraphs with the intention of making them Father’s Day recommendations. But since it’s June and the big day is almost upon us… well, why the hell not, right? And really, whiskey (or whisky) is a delightful gift for any father in your life who’s not a teetotaler.

I’ll confess, I know of at least one dad who’s a huge whiskey fan, and yet does not want a bottle for Father’s Day. That dad, dear reader, is me. But that’s only because I have so many bottles strewn all over my apartment that I worry the very earth might cave in beneath their weight. And despite that, if you brought me a really good bottle that I didn’t already have, I’d doubtlessly be grateful even as my apartment plunged through the earth’s crust. For any dad who doesn’t write about booze for a living, however, you can’t go wrong with Bushmills’ 25 and 30 year old expressions, which I wrote about for the fine humans at Alcohol Professor (link is -> HERE <-) or Ardbeg’s new Heavy Vapours bottling, which got my nod for Whisky Of The Week at Forbes (link is -> HERE <-). Cheap they ain’t, especially the Bushmills. But isn’t the dad in your life worth it? I certainly hope so. And I’m sorry if not.
