Booze Drinking And Name Dropping
My concept of celebrity is probably different from most people’s, encompassing as it does distillers and bartenders and writers rather than, you know, actors and athletes and whatever it is the Kardashians do. But every now and then the two overlap, and I find myself posing for a pic with a bonafide TV star like Guy Fieri (who also puts his name on a surprisingly good tequila), or attending an event with Keanu Reeves and Sofia Coppola (not that I got within 20 feet of either of them, but we were in the same building at the same time, presumably drinking the same whisky as well). Truth be told, I get more starstruck whenever I get to hang out with the likes of Dale DeGroff, whom I’ve described to my daughter as “the Frank Sinatra of cocktails.” It’s not the most accurate analogy, but most people to whom I’ve told it say, “Yeah, that’s about right.” Dale gave me a hug when I saw him a few months ago, and, nerd that I am, I immediately texted my wife — “Dale and I are apparently on hugging terms now!”
Anyway, the latest What’s Tony Drinking?, brought to you as always by the good folks at Alcohol Professor, is a celebrity-studded affair, and since all Americans are apparently celeb-addled fan-people, I’d suggest you read it right away. Link is -> HERE <-.
