I Am Large, I Contain Multitudes, I Write About Vodka (Occasionally)

Despite my frequently referring to vodka as “the bottled water of spirits,” I don’t dislike it. After all, bottled water may not be the most fascinating beverage on the planet, but most of us can probably tell our Poland Spring from our Evian, and I’m sure we have an opinion on which one tastes better (I think Evian tastes like soap, so Poland Spring gets the nod). It’s the same with vodka. It’s NOT “odorless, colorless, tasteless,” as its detractors declare. Well, maybe colorless. But you just have to pay a little more attention to be able to tease out the subtleties in every vodka.

Was I thrilled when Liquor.com assigned me a vodka to review? Well… not really. But at least I got to write up a vodka that I I’m not only familiar with, but genuinely enjoy, thanks in part to my old friend Philip Duff (of Old Duff Genever fame), who’s worked with Beluga Vodka and, over the years, has made sure I’ve gotten to taste my share of it. He’s good like that.

If you like vodka, by all means read my review of Beluga Noble over at Liquor.com (the link is right… wait for it… right -> HERE <-. If you don’t like vodka, read it anyway. Liquor.com and I could certainly use the clicks and who knows, your interest might be piqued.
